Today was absolutely amazing.

This is truly my happy place. I love working with youth, and today I had the joy of welcoming a room full of young creatives to Londzell Performing Arts Theatre.

These young people came in with interest in film, music, photography, videography, hospitality, administration, live production, and so much more. Today was all about introductions, connection, learning who they are, and helping them see the possibilities that exist inside a performing arts space.

Tomorrow, we begin getting a little more hands-on, and I am so excited for what’s ahead.

We are blessed to have these beautiful young people with us for the next five weeks, and I am looking forward to every moment of pouring into them, learning from them, and watching them grow.

A heartfelt thank you to the DeKalb Summer Youth Employment Program and WorkSource DeKalb for trusting Londzell Performing Arts Theatre to serve as a worksite for this incredible program.

The future is bright, and today was a beautiful reminder of why this work matters.

A huge shoutout to @Under21TheBand , a part of the How Big Is Your Dream?! Foundation @HBIYD?! , for opening up the MJ The Xperience show this past Saturday.

We are so proud of these young artists. They hit that stage with confidence, talent, discipline, and purpose - and they did an amazing job. This is what exposure, mentorship, and opportunity can do.

And here’s the beautiful part: today we realized that our stage manager for this event is also a student who came through the How Big Is Your Dream?! program. He’s only 19 years old and already killing the game behind the scenes. Talk about life coming full circle.

This organization is truly changing lives, on the stage and behind the stage.
